In accordance with Utah Code Annotated 59-2-202, each centrally assessed taxpayer
must annually file on or before March 1 a completed Annual Report
and Annual Return for
Assessment with the Property Tax Division of the Utah State Tax
Commission.
The Report details current taxpayer and/or property income results,
balance sheet and other financial information used to
develop the current year's property tax appraisal and
assessment. The Return includes information regarding "all
real property and tangible personal property located in the state" and owned or
operated by the taxpayer, and includes property location and original historical cost, which are used
to allocate the overall state property taxable value to
local taxing areas.
Annual Reports and Returns for
Assessment are due March 1.
General Information
- All taxpayers must use the Taxpayer Statement or the
pre-printed form mailed to taxpayers already filing
with the Utah State Tax Commission.
- The Taxpayer Statement must be completed and signed by a person who
has authority to file the Return.
- The New Properties
Form is used by all new taxpayers to
report costs for each property, and is used by taxpayers already filing with the Utah
State Tax Commission to report the cost of new
properties added during the year.
Please direct any questions or requests for assistance to the Property Tax Division
at (801)297-3600. Requests include the
pre-printed Annual Return containing confidential taxpayer cost information on diskette or CD for taxpayers
already filing in Utah.
